Pushing the Envelop

…or “Changing your Perspective”.

Lately I have been pushing myself to try and leave the comfort of a 50mm lens.

Truth is, I’m really not a “35mm guy”–I prefer fewer distractions, and tighter crops.

Photographing at 35mm generally means paying more attention to what’s going on around you, and how elements interact–it is apparently the quintessential “documentary lens”.

I’m not all that good at seeing a scene unfold.

Here is today’s attempt.ย  I’m not sure whether to give up, or keep trying…

All the best,

Mark I am like you…I find 35mm an awkward focal length. I also prefer 50mm! However I really enjoy using 24mm as a focal length as well. Though that is a bit different in how it’s used over 35mm in my opinion.

Keep going. Really like the first image and you were onto something with J’s shadow shot. I’d build on these two images the most, though also J and furry friend concept also got some legs (6 of them to be exact ๐Ÿ™‚ )!!

    Congrats on Nocti…very jealous!
