Greetings Again…

NewYearsSleigh-1

Two more from the New Years’ Sleigh thingy…

Velvia 100…last two shots on the GF670.

(Yes, it’s gone again…for good.  Was going to be my travel MF film camera, but that whole concept has changed.  I decided that extending and collapsing the bellows was too much of a long-term liability).

      Doh!

About ten days too late Andy!

Ya gotta be more on the ball about these things!!

      😉

(I bought the 80 and the 150…gonna give that a try).

      Hope you’re well,
      -M.

Man…there’s just no pleasing you sometimes, my friend!

      😉

They are not critically sharp across the frame as they were shot at f/3.5 or f/4…and focusing on the system does not seem to be as precise as with other rangefinders I have used. Color balance, on the other hand, is reasonable for the Velvia.

      Cheers,
      M.

I think the GF670 (or maybe the W) is still on my wish list. I can see the W being the perfect medium format travel set up. Good luck with the Mamiya, I’m sure the photos will still be beautiful no matter the “box” that helps takes it.

      Thanks very much, Jordan!

There is no denying the GF is a beautiful, portable little unit. I have not had any experience with the “W” version, but (although slightly slower) it would likely resolve any concerns related to the collapsing bellows. I’d have to get used to the 27mm-135 equivalent (a bit wide for my tastes…) but it would definitely make an outstanding travel camera.

      Cheers,
      Mark
