Yes, I know it’s not perfectly composed, but sometimes you just have to take the shot before she notices.  (The Owl, I mean…)

    The second shot is a keeper, for sure, despite its minor technical flaws. First rule of photography: get the shot, however you have to get it. Get the shot – then worry about careful composition, exposure, focus.

    Medium format slides. Bloody hell, they look good. Look at how beautiful skin is rendered! And Velvia isn’t exactly the best film for skin, either, IMO. If one is going to carry a chunky camera, let it be a Hasselblad. Think about it: Nikon D4 or 501C? The choice is so obvious, it’s slapping me over the head, grabbing me by the shoulders and shaking the living daylights out of me.
