The Revenge of the TSA

…or Canadian equivalent thereof.

This is Agfa APX 100.

It has also been baked by the airport bag scanner; proving once-and-for-all that x-rays are indeed dangerous.  (Especially to poor, unsuspecting rolls of film!)

This one had a curious dark, wavy, ribbon-like line right down the middle of it.  It was obviously partially shielded by something in the suitcase.

I am on the fence about whether to toss all of the remaining unexposed rolls and reuse the canisters (there’s about a dozen…) or just shoot and develop them and see what I end up with.

Flawed, but still fun!

On another note, this roll also represents the last official portrait of “eldest daughter” with all of her teeth!!

      Thanks for the comment!

Just to clarify: these 12 rolls are, as yet, unexposed.

While I’m leaning towards making use of them, I do wonder whether “the memories” are worth entrusting to them!!

      All the best,

We’re these al in your checked baggage, or with your carry on? We have a big trip planned later this year and I’m planning on taking lots of film, you are making me nervous here Mark!!

Unfortunately these were all in my CHECKED baggage…I’m sure they ran them through a huge microwave.

I have travelled with quite a few rolls in my carry-on bag, and have had no difficulty–I always request a hand-search though, regardless of what the agents say (“Oh, if it’s 400 ISO or less, you *should* be fine, Sir…”)

I’d rather not take the chance, thanks…

Ok, good to know – I remember reading a while ago when we first booked our trip that the checked baggage x-ray was not as harsh and to ask for a hand check…but these were making me sweat a little. Phew, this was really going to shake up my photo plans for the trip!

I actually like a lot of these Mark. I’m with Karim! I like the first and third in particular. Sure you didn’t add this in LR? 🙂

Jordan definitely HAND luggage. I’ve taken film even through the x-ray on hand luggage (i had forgotten about it) and was ok. Checked much stronger.
