One day, back in time…

Ektachrome-4

“…and now for something, completely different!!”

This is bulk “government surplus” Eastman Ektachrome.  It expired in 2004, but was acquired and repackaged by TheFilmPhotographyProject (go there!!)

I recently had a chance to purchase a box of the stuff, so I thought I’d give it a whirl…

As it turns out, it was exactly what I needed for our “retro-day at the fair”.

This is cross-processed in C-41 chemistry to give it a bit of a vintage look (and also because I was too lazy to mix up my last batch of E6…)

The colors can indeed be tweaked in post-processing (these were scanned on the Pakon…) but I rather liked the look of them.

I hope you enjoy,

-M.

Really nice Mark really fun captures I’ll post you my E-6 versions when I wake up out of my “haze” 🙂

A very nice collection. This film looks really nice, even when cross-processed. I love the third one!

There was a particular fad for cross-processing in the ’90s (before people were able to ruin their photos with a computer) and that look is so dated, it should be disposed of as if it was hospital waste. But your examples are rather nice – vintage, but not stupid or faddish.
