Another fantastic set. Some are quite cinematic, in fact. For example, shot #6. Cinematic doesn’t always mean the pinnacle of photographic expression. But then again, it can. π
You know I love the Fuji negatives but Portra is growing on me. The Pakon is very capable but I just know there’s more to come from these negs.
Oooh I love the ones with the big sticks. And that 5th of Baby J is somethin’ else! Looks like a fun trip…I miss the beach now.
Thanks very much Jordan!
Nice series – the little green shoes at the end is the perfect ending.
Thanks very much Naomi. I was actually going to message you and see if you wanted to meet up…but we ran out of time!
Hope you’re well,
M.
That could have been fun. I recognized those yellow daisies by the beach. Where were you?
This was Crystal Cove State Park, just outside Newport Beach.

I am about 150 miles north in Ventura County.
Naomi,
We used to go there all the time some years ago.

Thanks Karim–I think you’re probably right, but it is essentially the Pakon that keeps me shooting film in any short of volume!
Sometimes (alright, I get it, most times…geeesh) these silly notions bubble up in my mind for certain images… like #4 here:
“Ah, Grasshopper, do you hear the waves?” … “and do you hear also the stick and the sand?”
What’s that? Zen Master is not how you might usually view elder daughter? Of well, I said it was silly. π These are lovely and fun.
Thanks Greg; funny though, I hear the voices too…

Somehow the Images remember me of Star Warsβ¦
Hah hah! Thanks Felix…I totally see what you mean!
Cheers,
Mark
3 and 5 for me Mark. Looks like a nice “warm” holiday!
