The Fun Police

Yup, they’re contrasty;

and yes, I like ’em that way…

Considering the conditions, I think they turned out great.

A day at the wading pool, under watchful eyes.

    I don’t blame you – contrasty b&w is what can really make it work. BTW, how are you liking the Noritsu over the Pakon?

      Hi Naomi,

      Well, let me put it this way:

      If the Pakon was THE BOMB, then the Noritsu is THE-BOMB-DOT-COM.

      Get it?

      (No, neither do I…that doesn’t make any sense at all).

      Anyhoo, the Noritsu was quirkier to set up, and came with some issues out of the box (focus off, one software profile not working under Windows XP) but it will run on Windows 7 (which I have set up on a Bootcamp partition…) and the focus is adjustable under the Administrative functions.

      As of now, I seem to have ironed out all of the kinks. The biggest benefit is that it will do a 24MP scan (instead of just a 6 like the Pakon…) and will also scan all of the clear-base films that I had problems with (Rollei Retro 80S, Street Pan 400, PanF+)

      Haven’t done any colour yet (as I need new chemistry) but I very much think I am going to like it.

      Stay tuned for more,
