The Frozen Pond Dream

Sometimes when I don’t shoot for a while, it is a bit of a surprise as to what film I have loaded in which camera (a poor system, I realize…)

This was Cinestill 800, which seemed to work out well given the “dusky” conditions.

Cinestill is a film I have a love-hate relationship with. I need to just let it alone when I scan it – I always want to change its colors. Here, it works. I am addicted to intense colors – in case you haven’t noticed – and wish I could demonstrate some self-control in post. I’ll keep this one in mind with my next roll.

      Thanks Naomi—

I did notice your penchance for colour…

In any case, I tend to shoot a roll of Cinestill under varied conditions…so if it’s not Tungsten lighting (or I am not intentionally using an 85A filter…) then I do try to correct WB in post.

This one I didn’t have to do a lot with…but aside from grain, I do find the film to be pleasantly malleable.
