Insert Title

I don’t know exactly what it is, but there is something about this image that just slays me.

(Yes, Karim, it is grainy, and one eye is out-of-focus…but that’s how we roll here).

      Really Peter??

I mean–many thanks! I’m glad I’m not the only one that likes it…it just has that combination of intangibles for me.

I believe some pretty well regarded photographer said once… Sharpness is a bourgeois concept

I like the cool pastel tones – gives off a very angelic (or unicornic) vibe.

This is beautiful Mark. Beautiful. Print it. Make wall space if you have to!

I think a nuanced part of why this works so well is that you used a standard lens. It would have been technically better if you stood back with a portrait lens, but that would take away the intimacy between the viewer and subject.

But I think you misunderstand me. Sure, only one eye is in focus, but if I had a 50% chance of winning the lottery, I’d take it. And as far as grain goes, make no mistake, I love grain. 16mm is an awesome format, as I’ve said before, and I’m glad to see you keep it going.

It’s a moment Mark. A wonderful one. They are hard to explain but they move you! It’s like you have caught the transition Baby J to J in a split second.

    Hope you are well!
