More Alchemy…

500T-Noct-TMax

I haven’t done anything really avant-garde (photographically speaking…) for some time now, so I thought I was about due for some further alchemy.

This is Vision3 shot lastnight and developed in B&W chemistry at ISO 500–f/1 @ 1/60s.

(Tmax 1:4, 7 min @ 21ΒΊC)

Standard Remjet removal (baking soda) in the stainless tank; Straight off the Pakon with no pp.

The Recital – A Study

Recital-1

All different dates, times, and places…but it happened to come together.

First two are M9/Noct, third Mamiya, fourth GF670.

Last one is actually pushed to 1600 in camera.

(The colors look good on my computer, but man, do they ever look bad on my iPhone).

The Angel on my Shoulder

ShoulderAngel

I don’t know exactly why I like this photo, but I find myself coming back to it.

I like the tones, and the expression on her face.

I also like the viewer’s connection with her deep eyes.

I get the suggestion that there is an Angel sitting on one shoulder, and…well, you know the rest.

Lately she has mostly been the Angel…but she has her days.

(We all do, I guess…)

Birthday Night

BN-4

These were shot on Fuji Natura at ISO 3200.

Most of the the outdoor ones were shot while walking, at f/1 and 1/30s.

Some work, some don’t…But there you have it.

In most of them, there was actually barely enough light to focus on something.

(And yes, the Producer was baking her own cake).

I’m not sure the M9 would have been this clear at 3200…even if it did go that high!

A Duo of Producers

Producer-1-2

She finally agreed to model for me…

1/24s on Portra 400 (ISO 800 @ f/1.9).Β  The other was shot on the M9 (ISO 800 @f/1).

One of them was converted to B&W–it shouldn’t be hard to tell which.

Producer-1-1

Oh…and while I have you: someone is having a birthday today!

(…And it shouldn’t be hard to tell exactly who).

Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

The Women in my Life…

BeautifulPark-1

Sometimes I forget how beautiful she is…

The rendering from the M9, I mean…

(KIDDING.Β  Kidding!)

I of course mean my lovely and talented wife, who really has no reason to tolerate any of my flaws.

For some happy reason, she continues to…

I am well aware that I married above myself.

(She even color-coordinates the girls’ outfits to the playgrounds she takes them to…)

Colouring

…and now back to your regularly scheduled “Baby J” photograph.

She is moving on, and wants to be doing “big” things now.

There is just something exquisite about the rendering here that I really like…

This is Superia 400 shot at ISO 800 on the f/1 Noct.

It is not a perfect photo, but timeless all the same.

All the best,

M.
